We are seeking a skilled and certified Red Seal Carpenter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in carpentry, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to work collaboratively on various construction projects.  

Pay: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, commensurate with experience

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Construction and Renovation: Construct, install, renovate, and repair structures made of wood, steel, concrete, and other materials in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. 
  • Blueprint/Drawings Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. 
  • Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials using hand and power tools. 
  • Structural Installation: Erect scaffolding, ladders, and other support structures safely and efficiently. 
  • Finishing Work: Install interior and exterior finishing materials, including doors, windows, flooring, and trim. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, other tradespeople, and apprentices to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met. 
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Certification: Valid Red Seal Certification in Carpentry. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of post-certification experience in the carpentry trade. 
  • Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations, and excellent problem-solving abilities. 
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights. 
  • Transportation: Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to various job sites within the Ottawa area. 
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
